Have a memorable night out at Wellington's iconic cowboy bar
A cowboy bar in the heart of Wellington nightlife, Dakota Bar is not your typical nightclub. Pick up one of our signature cowboy hats when you come in, mosey on up to the bar and listen to some country tunes. You’ll find awesome weekly entertainment and happy hours from 5 to 7 pm every night.
If you get in early, you could get lucky and grab one of our saddle seats at the bar. Enjoy the American Wild West decor while you try a pickleback shot or one of our delicious snacks like deep-fried Oreos and mozzarella sticks.

If you've got nerves and guts of steel, hop on our mechanical bull and give it a whirl. It’s out on the floor most nights, including our popular “Cowgirl Fridays” and “Giddy Up Saturdays”. There’s nothing else like it around and if you’ve never had a go, you’re missing out!
After 10 pm on weekends, our beloved bull is rolled away to make room for the DJ and dance floor and we pump up the music for some boot-scootin'.
