Dakota Bar has been Wellington's own country haven since 2013, where people come to ride the mechanical bull, wear our signature cowboy hats and have a boogie on our awesome dance floor. Owned by Jose Ubiaga, this iconic bar is run by the same experienced team as the Wellington Entertainment Group, The Establishment and The Residence.

Dakota Bar started on Allen St. and soon became the city's favourite honkytonk. After five years of success, it was time to make this famous nightclub bigger and better by moving to 74 Courtenay Place, right in the heart of Wellington's nightlife. Since our reopening, Dakota Bar has become the place to be - a landmark cowboy bar with great service, the best cocktails in town and good times!
